In Short

  • Dhurandhar 2 entered the Rs 1,000-crore club on 18th day
  • It's the first Hindi film to cross Rs 1,000 crore domestically
  • Baahubali 2 was the first Indian film to ever cross Rs 1,000 crore

Dhurandhar: The Revenge, on its 18th day, entered the Rs 1,000 crore club at the domestic box office. The Aditya Dhar directorial had already achieved the same milestone globally within its first week.

Now, it has gone a step further - emerging as the first Bollywood film to cross the staggering benchmark in Hindi alone, scripting history for the industry and ending Bollywood's nine-year wait since Baahubali 2: The Conclusion became the first film to cross Rs 1,000 crore domestically in 2017.

The SS Rajamouli blockbuster, often credited with redefining Indian cinema, collected around Rs 1,030.4 crore nett and grossed Rs 1,416.9 crore domestically in its lifetime run. It was the first Indian film to bring the once-unthinkable Rs 1,000-crore club into sight. Yet, no Hindi film had managed to reach that mark, until 2026, when Dhurandhar: The Revenge changed the game.

From Day 1, the film stormed the box office, shattering records and rewriting expectations. It didn't just succeed, it forced Bollywood to rethink itself. Records became irrelevant, release dates were reshuffled, budgets reconsidered, and projects sent back to the drawing board. A reset, of sorts. What Baahubali 2 did for Southern cinema, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is now doing for Bollywood.
