Hanuman Ansh storms into Bollywood's top 3 in 2026, overtakes Mirzapur box office

Hanuman Ansh has surpassed Mirzapur: The Movie and Akshay Kumar's Bhooth Bangla to enter the top three highest-grossing Bollywood films of 2026 worldwide. The Vishal Chaturvedi-directed devotional drama has now grossed Rs 279.80 crore worldwide on Day 39 – an extraordinary feat for a film that opened to just Rs 10 lakh and was reportedly made on a budget of around Rs 2 crore.

The latest numbers have pushed Hanuman Ansh past Mirzapur: The Movie, which had reached Rs 273.64 crore worldwide by Day 11. Bhooth Bangla, meanwhile, has collected around Rs 231 crore worldwide. While both films reached their respective milestones much faster, Hanuman Ansh has taken 39 days to break into the top three — making its sustained theatrical run all the more remarkable.

With Dhurandhar 2 and Border 2 occupying the first two spots, Hanuman Ansh is now the third-highest-grossing Bollywood film worldwide in 2026.

On Day 39, Hanuman Ansh added Rs 8.25 crore nett (gross minus taxes) in India, taking its domestic nett collection to Rs 222.88 crore. Its India gross now stands at Rs 263.30 crore, while the overseas market has contributed Rs 16.50 crore, taking the film's worldwide gross to Rs 279.80 crore.

Hanuman Ansh overtakes Mirzapur

The timing of the achievement makes it even more striking. Mirzapur: The Movie opened strongly, benefiting from the enormous popularity of the Prime Video series, and had already crossed Rs 200 crore in India within its first 11 days. On its second Monday, however, the film saw a sharp 58.5 per cent drop, collecting Rs 5.50 crore nett. Its worldwide total was then closing in on the Rs 275-crore mark.

Hanuman Ansh, meanwhile, has followed almost the opposite trajectory. The film opened to just Rs 10 lakh, but built momentum over the weeks through strong word of mouth. Instead of collapsing after the initial theatrical period, it has continued to find audiences and has now overtaken a much bigger release that arrived only 11 days earlier.

That makes its position at number 3 particularly unusual. The film is now sitting behind only Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2 and Sunny Deol's Border 2 on the 2026 Bollywood worldwide chart, despite being made on a reported budget of around Rs 2 crore.

Sixth week remains extraordinary

The latest milestone comes immediately after another extraordinary weekend for the film. Hanuman Ansh earned Rs 10.50 crore on its sixth Friday, Rs 18.50 crore on Saturday and Rs 22.50 crore on Sunday, before its sixth Monday collection fell to Rs 8.25 crore nett.

The Monday drop was significant, but the film still managed to add more than Rs 8 crore nett on Day 39 — a remarkable figure for a film this deep into its theatrical run. Its sixth-week momentum has become one of the defining box-office stories of 2026.

According to the latest trade figures, the film recorded 26.04 per cent overall occupancy on Monday. Morning shows recorded 16.85 per cent occupancy, which rose to 27.54 per cent in the afternoon and 30.54 per cent in the evening before settling at 29.23 per cent for night shows.

Rs 300 crore worldwide target next

With the worldwide gross now at Rs 279.80 crore, the next obvious target is the Rs 300-crore mark. The film needs roughly Rs 20.2 crore more worldwide to reach the milestone.

What makes that prospect extraordinary is the distance between its opening and its current position. Hanuman Ansh began its theatrical journey with a Rs 10-lakh opening and is now competing with films that arrived with considerably larger budgets, star power and marketing machinery.

The film's current top-three position also puts its late-run performance in sharper perspective. Dhurandhar 2 remains comfortably ahead with a worldwide gross of more than Rs 1,800 crore, while Border 2 stands at around Rs 464.50 crore. But Hanuman Ansh has now moved past Mirzapur: The Movie and Bhooth Bangla to claim the third spot.

For a film that started as a small devotional release with virtually no blockbuster expectations, Hanuman Ansh is now firmly in the company of 2026's biggest Hindi theatrical successes. And with Rs 300 crore within striking distance, its box-office story may not be over just yet.
