Actor Gaurav Gera has revealed that a pivotal scene from Dhurandhar: The Revenge was part of his audition process, long before it made the final cut. The sequel, headlined by Ranveer Singh, has been performing strongly at the box office, with Gera’s portrayal of Aalam drawing particular attention.

In an interview with HT City, Gera shared that he was asked to perform an intense sequence during auditions, one that later turned out to be central to the film’s narrative. The scene involves his character persuading Hamza to let him take the blame for Pinda’s death, underlining Aalam’s importance in the storyline.

What did Gaurav Gera reveal about his audition?

Gera said he was called to casting director Mukesh Chhabra’s office specifically to perform the emotionally charged scene. At the time, he was unaware of its full significance.

It was only during the narration that he realised how crucial the moment was. He noted that Aalam serves as Hamza’s key support system, making the role both layered and impactful within the film’s narrative.

Why is his character Aalam being talked about?

In Dhurandhar: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, Gera’s character has emerged as a standout despite the film’s ensemble cast, which includes actors like Sara Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan and Arjun Rampal.

The film, which released on March 19, 2025, builds on the success of its predecessor and continues to perform well commercially, with audiences responding to its character-driven storytelling.

How has the audience reacted to Gaurav Gera’s performance?

Gera also spoke about the response from viewers, particularly to his dialogue, “Darling, Darling dil kyu toda, peelo peelo aalam dhoodh soda,” which has gained traction on social media.

He said fans frequently reference the line in messages, turning it into a recurring catchphrase since the first film’s release.

Before transitioning to films, Gera built his career on television with shows like Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi and Mrs. Pammi Pyarelal. His performance in the Dhurandhar franchise marks a notable moment in his film journey.
