On October 24, industry sources revealed that renowned K-drama actors Ji Chang-wook and Son Ye-jin are being considered for lead roles in a Netflix drama titled Scandal (working title), which is set to be a remake of the 2003 film Untold Scandal.

Responding to the reports, Son Ye-jin’s agency, MSteam Entertainment, confirmed that the actress has received a casting offer for the project and is currently reviewing it. Similarly, Ji Chang-wook’s agency, Spring Company, stated, “It is true that he has received a casting offer,” noting that he is also reviewing the proposal.

Scandal will be a historical drama based on the 18th-century French novel Dangerous Liaisons, which has been adapted into various productions globally. The original Untold Scandal film was set in Korea’s Joseon Dynasty, and this Netflix remake is expected to follow a similar narrative backdrop.

The series is reportedly set to be helmed by director Jung Ji-woo, known for his work on Somebody, Tune in for Love, Heart Blackened, Eungyo, and Moss. Filming is slated to commence in March 2025, building anticipation for what promises to be a captivating historical retelling.
