Pawan Kalyan undergoes shoulder surgery
Earlier, the Jana Sena Party had said that doctors diagnosed Pawan Kalyan with severe rotator cuff injuries in both shoulders. Although he was advised to undergo surgery immediately, he postponed the procedure to fulfil his official responsibilities.
Doctors operated only on his right shoulder to ensure a smoother recovery, while surgery on the left shoulder is expected to take place in around two months. According to the party, the injury dates back to 2016 and worsened over the years because of continuous public engagements, political rallies and campaigns. The full extent of the damage was detected during medical examinations conducted ahead of his nasal surgery earlier this year.
The three-and-a-half-hour procedure was led by orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala.

In a subsequent update, the Jana Sena Party said doctors also discovered an avulsion fracture in Pawan Kalyan's right shoulder, making the surgery more complex than initially anticipated. Following the operation, he was shifted to the recovery room, where he gradually regained consciousness under close medical supervision.
Pawan Kalyan made his acting debut with the 1996 film Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi before entering politics and launching the Jana Sena Party in 2014.
On the film front, he was last seen in Hari Hara Veera Mallu and They Call Him OG in 2025, followed by Ustaad Bhagat Singh in 2026. He is next set to star in an untitled film directed by Surender Reddy and OG 2 with director Sujeeth. No other projects have been officially announced yet.
