Actor Tom Felton felt that it was "really important" to connect with Lox Pratt, the young actor cast as Draco Malfoy for the upcoming Harry Potter series. Felton, who played Draco in the original films from 2001 to 2011, reached out to Pratt to offer "a word of encouragement" in case the latter had any doubts.
Felton, in an interview on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, revealed that — like his co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint — he sent the next Harry Potter generation a note.
He said, "I’ve sent word, yes. I think it’s really important. It’s very different — we were entering things that don’t exist; there’s quite a lot of weight now. So the last thing I’m gonna do is offer anything other than say, 'Here’s my phone number. Here’s my address'. To his parents as well as him, and to anyone else there."
Felton said he’s trying to steer clear of giving advice to Pratt because "this is your journey." "Have as much fun as possible, take as many pictures as you can, steal as many props as you can — they’ll be worth a fortune. But also, if you do need a word of encouragement or questions to ask, I’m there," the actor.
Felton is now reprising an adult version of Malfoy in Broadway’s Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. The upcoming Harry Potter series, which will be adapted from one book each season, debuted its first teaser earlier this week. The show is currently set for a Christmas release.
The upcoming HBO series features Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, alongside Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. The ensemble also includes John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape and Nick Frost as Hagrid.
Harry Potter will stream on HBO Max in regions where the service is available. For Indian audiences, it will be available on JioHotstar.
