Ucha Lamba Kad gets a Welcome back: Akshay, Disha revive Katrina's iconic track

The new peppy track Ucha Lamba Kad Forever from the upcoming comedy film Welcome To The Jungle was released on June 1. The song brings back Ucha Lamba Kad in a recreated version led by Akshay Kumar and Disha Patani.

The original song from Welcome (2007) was composed by Anand Raj Anand, while the new version has been recreated by Vikram Montrose. Sung by Anand Raj Anand and Rubai, the track features fresh lyrics by Meggha Bali alongside the original lyrics by Sameer. The music video, built around colourful visuals and an energetic rhythm, is positioned as a key addition to the film’s soundtrack.

Revisiting Ucha Lamba Kad

Speaking about the recreation, composer Vikram Montrose said, "The original Ucha Lamba Kad holds a special place in the hearts of Bollywood music lovers. The challenge was to retain that nostalgia while giving it a fresh identity that fits the energy of Welcome To The Jungle. We wanted audiences to instantly reconnect with the song and at the same time discover something new."

Meggha Bali, who has written the new lyrics, added, "Songs like these come with a legacy and an emotional connection for audiences. Our effort was to celebrate everything people loved about the original while adding a contemporary flavour that speaks to today’s listeners."

Massive ensemble leads classic comedy of errors

The ensemble cast features a massive line-up of Bollywood veterans and comedy heavyweights. Leading the pack are franchise regulars and actors like Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Jackie Shroff, Raveena Tandon, and Lara Dutta. The film also features Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Urvashi Rautela. Bringing the laughs are beloved comedy icons Johny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Krushna Abhishek, and Kiku Sharda.

The one-minute, 30-second teaser of Welcome to the Jungle showcases a chaotic plot where the making of a "fake film" by Akshay Kumar and the ensemble cast goes hilariously wrong. Everything from staged gunshots to accidental killings hints at a classic comedy of errors that forms the film’s premise.

Welcome To The Jungle is produced by Firoz A Nadiadwala under the banner of Base Industries Group and directed by Ahmed Khan. The film is set for a theatrical release on June 26, 2026.
