Director Savin SA’s Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros continues its strong box office run, and has now become the sixth highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time.
According to a Sacnilk report, in a 10-day box office run, the film has grossed Rs 163.50 crore worldwide, with Rs 89.75 crore gross coming from India and Rs 73.75 crore gross from overseas markets. The film’s India net collection currently stands at Rs 77.50 crore, reflecting a steady performance across regions.
With these numbers, Vaazha 2 has now surpassed Prithviraj Sukumaran’s The Goat Life, which had a lifetime gross of around Rs 158.50 crore joining the list of major Malayalam blockbusters. Written by Vipin Das, the film features a mix of emerging and familiar faces, including Hashir, Alan, Vinayak, Ajin, Biju Kuttan, Alphonse Puthren, Vijay Babu, Aju Varghese, Ameen, and Angel Maria.
Its success outside Kerala underlines the growing trend in Malayalam cinema where content-driven films are finding wide acceptance among audiences, regardless of conventional star power.
