Amaran box office Day 7: Sivakarthikeyan's biggest grosser remains steady

Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi's recently released film, Amaran, is holding steady in theatres during the weekdays. According to trade reports, the film is marching towards Rs 200-crore mark worldwide. Though there has been a decline in numbers during the weekdays, the film is most likely to pick up pace during its second weekend due to positive word-of-mouth. Amaran, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, is Sivakarthikeyan's biggest grosser in his career.
The biographical war film enjoyed a fantastic opening weekend and grossed over Rs 150 crore globally. Amaran was released in theatres on October 31 amid massive anticipation.
According to the tracking website, Sacnilk, the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer grossed Rs 168 crore in six days. While the domestic collection (gross) amounts to Rs 117.7 crore, the film recorded an overseas collection of Rs 50.3 crore. The Day 7 numbers are still awaited. Looking at the figures, the film is likely to breach the Rs 200-crore mark by the end of this weekend.
On its seventh day at the box office, Amaran earned approximately Rs 6.75 crore nett in India. The seven-day total collections of the film now stands at Rs 109 crore nett in the country.

Amaran is a biopic on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan who died in the line of duty during a mission in the Shopian area of Kashmir in 2014. The film is based on Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh's book series, India's Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes. One of the chapters in the three-part book is about Mukund and his mission.
Jointly produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Sony Pictures Films India, the film features Sivakarthikeyan, Sai Pallavi, Bhuvan Arora, Rahul Bose and Rohman Shawl in crucial roles. Composer GV Prakash Kumar, cinematographer CH Sai and editor Kalaivanan are part of the technical team.
