After making an impact as a dancer and actor, Nora Fatehi is now strengthening her space in the music industry. The actor-singer has announced her new single, Slay to the Rhythm, from her EP Play, describing it as one of her most personal projects yet as an independent artist and producer.

In an exclusive statement to India Today, Nora shared why the track marks a significant milestone in her musical journey.

“This one is special for me. As an Independent artist and producer, this project marks my elevation as an artist musically. This song is about being free and celebrating music and dance. Both things that opened so many doors for me and connected me with all of you. Dance and music took me around the world and made the impossible possible. I hope this one inspires you to be free from the judgements of society and follow your heart always.”

Slay to the Rhythm features vocals by Nora and Ma3iz, with music composed by Sanjoy. The song follows Champions and Locked In, both of which saw Nora lean into a global pop sound while showcasing her signature dance style. The latest release continues that streak with upbeat production, energetic choreography and visuals centred around music, movement and self-expression.

Talking about what audiences can expect from the track, Nora said, “This is a summer banger. It’s a tribute to music and dancers all around the world and to the power of rhythm, how it has connected people across the globe and opened so many doors for artists like me. It’s a celebration of music and dance and how they give us the confidence to chase our dreams.”

Over the years, Nora has carved a niche for herself as one of the country’s most popular performers, delivering chartbusters such as Dilbar, O Saki Saki, Garmi, Naach Meri Rani, Manike and Jehda Nasha.

While dance remains at the heart of her popularity, she has also steadily expanded her acting portfolio with films including Street Dancer 3D, Bhuj: The Pride of India, Crakk and Madgaon Express. She was last seen in Be Happy, where she starred alongside Abhishek Bachchan in the dance drama directed by Remo D’Souza.
