The Tamil Nadu Assembly elections were held on April 23, with the votes cast set to shape actor Vijay’s political future as he enters the fray with his Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party. Amid the polling, actor Trisha shared a post on Instagram after voting, and it quickly drew attention for what fans saw as an indication of her support for her long-time friend and co-star Vijay.
Trisha, who has been in the news over reports linking her to Vijay, posted a smiling picture of herself showing the ink mark on her finger. While the image itself appeared routine, the music choice on the post led many online users to read more into it.
Why Trisha’s post went viral
Trisha used the song Arjunar Villu from Ghilli, her 2013 hit film with Vijay, in the background of the post. She added only evil eye emoticons in the caption. Fans pointed out that the clip appeared to include the portion with whistles, which is also TVK’s party symbol, and many took that as a sign of support.

Ghilli is also one of the films that helped establish Vijay and Trisha as a popular on-screen pair. At the polling booth, Trisha was seen in casual Indian wear and was accompanied by her mother, Uma.
Speaking to reporters later, Trisha said, "Please vote, just go vote. That’s your right, it’s your duty. Please go vote."

About Vijay and Trisha
Vijay and Trisha are among the best-known screen pairings in Tamil cinema. They have worked together in Ghilli, Thirupaachi, Aathi, Kuruvi and, most recently, Leo. Trisha is now awaiting the release of her Tamil film Karuppu with Suriya.
In recent months, social media has repeatedly linked Vijay and Trisha. After the Jana Nayagan row with the censor board, Vijay’s personal life also became part of attacks from political detractors as he prepared for a political entry through Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
Their long-standing friendship has often triggered discussion online. Meanwhile, his partner Sangeetha filed for divorce, seeking to end their 27-year marriage, over allegations of adultery with a female actor. As details from Vijay’s divorce filings surfaced, some users again linked his name with Trisha.
Recently, Vijay and Trisha arriving in the same car and attending the AGS family wedding added to the conversation online. Neither actor has responded to the rumours around Vijay’s divorce petition, but their joint appearance at the reception once again brought their relationship under public attention.
