Shubman Gill had a day to remember as he became the youngest batter to reach 4000 runs in the IPL. The right-hander achieved the milestone at 26 years and 216 days during Gujarat Titans’ IPL 2026 match against Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday, April 12, at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Gill broke the long-standing record held by Virat Kohli, who had reached the landmark in 2016 at 27 years and 195 days. Kohli had set the record while playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru against Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab) in Bengaluru. The record now belongs to Gill, who has been a prolific run-scorer in the IPL so far.
