Indian Spider-Man fans will get to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) a little sooner than expected. Sony Pictures Entertainment India has announced that Spider-Man: Brand New Day will now release in Indian cinemas on July 30, 2026, a day ahead of its previously announced release schedule.
The studio also confirmed that advance bookings for premium large-format screenings will open on June 17. Tickets will be available for formats including IMAX, 4DX, MX4D and other premium screens ahead of the film's theatrical release.
The latest instalment sees Tom Holland reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, alongside Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds. In India, the film will be released in six languages – English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
The film picks up after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which ended with the world forgetting Peter Parker's identity. This time, Peter is shown navigating life largely on his own, without the support system that defined much of his journey in previous MCU outings.
According to Sony, the film's trailer has become the first movie trailer to cross one billion views across platforms. The footage offers a glimpse into a more isolated and emotionally burdened Peter Parker as he continues protecting New York while grappling with the consequences of his past choices.
The film also marks Holland's first standalone Spider-Man outing in nearly five years.
Director Destin Daniel Cretton, known for directing Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, said the film explores themes of grief, loss and emotional resilience.
Alongside Holland, Zendaya and Batalon, the cast includes Jon Bernthal, who returns as Frank Castle/The Punisher, and Sadie Sink of Stranger Things fame. Details about Sink's character remain under wraps.
In the US, Amazon Prime members will be able to watch the film early through a special advance screening programme on July 29 at select theatres.
With an earlier release date now locked in for India and premium-format bookings opening soon, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is gearing up for one of the biggest superhero releases of 2026.
The film will hit globally on July 31.
