Addressing recent speculations, actor Jr. NTR's production house, NTR Arts, has officially dismissed claims regarding schedule cancellations for NTRNeel. The makers also took the opportunity to provide clarity on the current "preparation gap" required for the high-octane Prashanth Neel directorial.
While denying the alleged shooting cancellations, NTR Arts, on their X handle wrote, "There is absolutely no truth to the rumours circulating about the look or any schedule cancellation. The film is progressing as planned, with only a routine preparation gap. We request everyone not to believe or spread unverified information. NTRNeel is Prashanth Neel’s most ambitious film, as it is his first collaboration with Jr NTR. Jr NTR’s transformation for the film has already generated massive hype. His recent photos from his styling session with director Prashanth Neel and celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim went viral, offering the clearest hint yet of his fierce new avatar: rugged beard, sharper features and a darker aesthetic.
Neel has earlier helmed actor Yash's KGF: Chapter 1 (2018) and KGF: Chapter 2 (2022) and Prabhas's Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire (2023). Neel's last theatrical release was the 2024 Kannada superhero film, Bagheera, featuring actors Sriimurali, Rukmini Vasanth, Prakash Raj, Sudha Rani, Ramachandra Raju, Achyuth Kumar and Rangayana Raghu in key roles.
Backed by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts, NTRNeel is also co-produced by Kalyan Ram Nandamuri, Naveen Yerneni, Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili, and Hari Krishna Kosaraju. The film, reportedly titled Dragon, features Rukmini Vasanth as the female lead.
Jr NTR's last theatrical release was his Hindi debut, War 2, featuring actors Hrithik Roshan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, Varun Badola and others in crucial characters. The film was directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films.
Jr NTR's last Telugu film was Koratala Siva's action-drama Devara (2024), co-starring actors Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Prakash Raj and others.
