Jana Nayagan box office Day 6: Vijay film nears Rs 250 crore globally despite dip

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay's final film Jana Nayagan stayed steady at the box office despite a weekday dip. The H Vinoth directorial is now closing in on Rs 250 crore worldwide within six days.

After a strong opening weekend, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay's final film, Jana Nayagan, witnessed a slowdown on weekdays. Despite the slowdown, it continued to maintain a steady run at the box office. The H Vinoth directorial nears Rs 250 crore worldwide within just six days of release despite witnessing a weekday dip.

On its sixth day, Jana Nayagan recorded a 24.9 per cent drop compared to its previous day's earnings. According to trade website Sacnilk, the film collected an estimated Rs 8 crore nett across 10,413 shows in India on Day 6.

The Tamil version contributed Rs 6.15 crore, while the Hindi and Telugu versions earned Rs 1.25 crore and Rs 0.60 crore, respectively.

With this, the film's total India nett collection has reached Rs 143.40 crore, while its India gross collection stands at Rs 167.57 crore. Overseas, the film added Rs 3 crore on Day 6, taking its total overseas gross collection to Rs 78.50 crore. The worldwide gross collection of Jana Nayagan has now climbed to an estimated Rs 246.07 crore.

As per Sacnilk, Jana Nayagan recorded an overall occupancy of 25.73 per cent on Day 6 (first Tuesday), with evening shows witnessing better footfall compared to the morning screenings.

Directed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan marks Thalapathy Vijay's final film before he steps away from cinema to focus on his full-time political career. The film was initially slated for a January release but faced delays after it did not receive clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Alongside Vijay, the film features Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol, and Prakash Raj in key roles. Jana Nayagan finally hit theatres on July 23, 2026.
