Speculation around star kids entering films is never far away, but Dhanush is keeping things measured when it comes to his son. Addressing rumours about Yathra Dhanush’s acting debut, the actor said it is still too early to make any call.
Speaking at the pre-release event of his upcoming film Kara, Dhanush acknowledged the buzz but stopped short of confirming any plans to launch the 19-year-old in cinema.
Rumours of Yathra’s debut have been gaining traction, with reports suggesting that Dhanush could introduce him through a film he directs. While the actor did not address these claims directly, he made it clear that no decision has been finalised.
“I came into acting at the age of 16 because of my circumstances. He is just 19 now, and I still see him as a kid. I don’t know what he will become yet – it’s too early to say,” Dhanush said at the event.
Though an acting debut remains uncertain, Yathra has already dipped his toes into filmmaking. He was credited in Dhanush’s third directorial venture, Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam.
Actor SJ Suryah had earlier suggested that Yathra wrote the lyrics for the film’s first single, Golden Sparrow. However, this was later clarified by Sreyas, who stated that lyricist Arivu wrote the song, with Yathra contributing only the hook and a few lines.
