  • Hindi Drishyam 3 to release on October 2

Drishyam 3 producers Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak have revealed that the upcoming Hindi adaptation of the film, starring Ajay Devgn, will differ significantly from Mohanlal’s Malayalam version. According to the makers, while both films begin from the same point after Drishyam 2, the Hindi version will feature several changes in its screenplay and treatment to suit the preferences of Hindi audiences.

In an interview with ANI, Abhishek Pathak said, “You will understand the difference only when you watch the Hindi trailer. The story in Drishyam 2 ended at a certain point, and Drishyam 3 begins from there. The Malayalam version also starts from that point. The Malayalam version is more of a family drama. As Jeethu Joseph told us during the launch, the story is very good for the Malayalam audience, and they will like it. We liked it a lot too, which is why we invested in this project.”

“Our Hindi audience has a different taste and palate. We made changes in Drishyam 2 as well, and the audience appreciated them. We have also made changes to the story and screenplay for this instalment, and the audience will notice the difference,” he added.

Abhishek also shared an update on the Hindi version of Drishyam 3, starring Ajay Devgn, and said that the film is expected to release on October 2, a date that has become closely associated with the franchise over the years.

He revealed that the team considers it “Drishyam Day” and confirmed that the Hindi version is currently in post-production and being prepared for release.

Meanwhile, Kumar Mangat Pathak spoke about Panorama Studios’ entry into Malayalam cinema and revealed that the idea took shape during the lockdown period, when the team explored several Malayalam films and was impressed by the quality and variety of storytelling in the industry.

He shared that the team spent nearly one and a half years researching, meeting writers and industry professionals before planning their expansion into Malayalam cinema.

He further credited Mr Anthony, Mohanlal and Mr Jacob for helping Panorama Studios become a part of the Malayalam film industry. Kumar Mangat added that the team collaborated closely on the project and is now preparing for a worldwide release, while also working on several more films in the industry.

The Drishyam franchise follows Georgekutty and his family as they try to protect themselves after the disappearance of a senior police officer’s son. The original Malayalam film released in 2013 and became a massive success, later spawning remakes in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and other languages.

Mohanlal’s Drishyam 3 is set for a worldwide theatrical release on May 21.
