Years after sharing screen space in blockbuster hits like Kaththi, Theri and Mersal, actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu reunited with Thalapathy Vijay in Chennai on Wednesday. This time, however, the meeting was off-screen, with Samantha congratulating the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister on his election victory and later calling him someone who was "never meant to be just a hero on screen."
Posting photographs from the meeting, Samantha wrote that arriving in Chennai felt special because she was going to meet "our CM".
"I've always felt that Vijay Sir was never meant to be just a hero on screen. His energy, his presence, and the way people respond to him always felt like he was meant for something bigger (sic)," she wrote.

Reflecting on his move into politics, Samantha said what inspired her most was the courage it takes to leave behind a successful career and embrace an entirely new challenge.
"What inspires me most is the courage it takes to step into a completely new arena. To leave behind what you have already mastered and take on a challenge where the stakes are so much higher. Not because it is easy, but because you believe you can make a difference (sic)," she wrote.
Samantha also used the moment to reflect on purpose and public service, saying everyone reaches a point in life where they are called to think beyond themselves and contribute to society.
"I think all of us, at some point in our lives, are called to do more. To look beyond ourselves and ask how we can contribute. Very few people actually answer that call (sic)," she added.
Samantha praises CM Vijay
Samantha said she believed Vijay would surprise even those who already believed in him, adding that it would be because of the intent with which he approaches his new role, rather than the position itself.
"I have a feeling Vijay Sir will surprise even the people who already believe in him. Not because of the position he holds, but because of the intent with which he approaches it (sic)," the Maa Inti Bangaram actor added.

She concluded her note by wishing Vijay "strength, wisdom and the courage to stay the course", adding that she hoped his journey would inspire young people to dream beyond the paths they initially set for themselves.
"And for every young person watching, may this be a reminder that life can be so much bigger than the dream you started with (sic)," she wrote.
Samantha and Vijay have shared screen space in three Tamil blockbusters – Kaththi (2014), Theri (2016) and Mersal (2017). Their on-screen chemistry made them one of Tamil cinema's most-loved pairings, with fans continuing to hope for another collaboration.
Meanwhile, Samantha is gearing up for her film, Maa Inti Bangaram. The upcoming film is created by director and her husband Raj Nidimoru, directed by Nandini, and produced by Raj, Samantha and Himank Duvurru under the banner of Tralala Moving Pictures.
Maa Inti Bangaram also marks her return to the big screen after her 2023 film Kushi, co-starring Vijay Deverakonda.
