Welcome To The Jungle box office Day 2: Akshay's film crosses Rs 50 crore globally

Akshay Kumar's Welcome To The Jungle has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark at the worldwide box office in just two days. The film collected Rs 20 crore nett on Saturday, taking its India nett total to Rs 39 crore and worldwide gross to Rs 57.50 crore.

Actor Akshay Kumar's Welcome To The Jungle has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark globally within two days of its release. Directed by Ahmed Khan, the comedy-action entertainer witnessed growth on its first Saturday, collecting Rs 20 crore nett in India and taking its worldwide gross collection to Rs 57.50 crore, continuing its strong run at the box office.

According to the trade website Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 20 crore nett on Day 2 across 10,396 shows, taking its total India nett collection to Rs 39 crore. Its India gross collection now stands at Rs 46.80 crore after two days.

In overseas markets, Welcome To The Jungle added Rs 6 crore on Saturday, pushing its total overseas gross to Rs 10.70 crore. With this, the film's worldwide gross collection has reached Rs 57.50 crore.

The film had opened with a worldwide gross of Rs 29 crore on Friday, including Rs 22.50 crore gross from India and Rs 6.50 crore from international markets. At the domestic box office, it had collected Rs 15 crore nett on its opening day across 10,892 shows, with its India nett total standing at Rs 18.75 crore.

The third installment in the Welcome franchise follows a group of gangsters, criminals and eccentric characters whose lives collide in a jungle near the border. What begins as an operation resembling a film shoot quickly spirals into a chaotic series of crime-filled, action-packed and comedic misadventures.

Directed by Ahmed Khan, the film features an extensive ensemble cast including Farida Jalal, Johny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Rajpal Yadav, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Aftab Shivdasani, Mukesh Tiwari, Yashpal Sharma, Kiran Kumar, Zakir Hussain, Vindu Dara Singh, Urvashi Rautela, Hemant Pandey, Brijendra Kala, Feroze Khan, Puneet Issar, Sudesh Berry, Jeetu Verma, Vrihi Kodvara, Adityaa Singgh and Bhagya Bhanushali, among others.
