Wedding whispers around Janhvi Kapoor and Shikhar Pahariya may have picked up pace, but there’s a quick reality check from home. Though the two had begun dating much earlier, Janhvi Kapoor publicly confirmed the relationship during her appearance on Koffee with Karan in April 2024.

Producer Boney Kapoor has firmly denied reports claiming the couple are set to marry later this year. Speculation had suggested a traditional ceremony around September or October, possibly in Jamnagar, but Boney told ETimes, “No, this is not true.”

The chatter comes at a time when Janhvi and Shikhar’s relationship has been back in the spotlight. The two were first linked before Janhvi’s Bollywood debut, reportedly dated briefly, and then went their separate ways in 2016. In recent years, however, they appear to have found their way back to each other, and haven’t exactly been hiding it.

From holidays together to cosy appearances at family gatherings, the pair have been seen often enough to keep the rumour mill busy. Shikhar, in particular, has been a regular at intimate Kapoor family celebrations and even temple visits, signalling a bond that goes beyond casual dating.

Adding to the intrigue, Janhvi recently opened up about love in a podcast, without naming Shikhar but offering a glimpse into her emotional space. “Love looks safe. I don’t feel as helpless any more because of his presence,” she said, hinting at a relationship that brings her comfort and stability.

She also spoke about the ease she feels, describing love as a space where she can be her most unfiltered self. “I can be a child. There’s no one else I have more fun with. I feel I have become the truest version of myself because of love,” she added.

For now, though, wedding bells aren’t ringing – at least officially. Despite the steady stream of sightings and soft-launch moments, Boney Kapoor’s denial has put a pause on the latest round of speculation.

On the work front, Janhvi will next be seen in the Telugu film Peddi, alongside Ram Charan. It is slated for a theatrical release on June 4, 2026.
