BIGBANG member G-Dragon, also touted as the trailblazer and King of K-pop, is back after 7 years. The K-pop genius released his pre-release single "Power" on October 31. "Power" is his first release in seven years, leaving his fans, K-pop idols, and the industry excited.

"Power" was released under his new partnership with agency Galaxy Corporation and EMPIRE after departing from YG ENTERTAINMENT last year.

G-Dragon, the leader of BIGBANG and a solo artist, is well-known in the industry for setting a new barometer and record of his own through unconventional sounds. As one who makes rules, G-Dragon makes it clear that he is back to claim his spot with the lyrics, “Guess who’s back/It’s your boy, GD!” as "Power" captures your mind with its high-energy hip-hop sound.

The song has been co-written by the idol himself alongside Tommy “TB Hits” Brown, Theron Thomas, and Steven Franks.

In a statement, G-Dragon described "Power" as the beginning of a new era for GD. “I express myself through music. This marks the beginning of a new era, and I hope to inspire people who listen to my music,” the leader of BIGBANG said.

The contribution of GD in taking K-pop to the global market cannot be undermined. He was probably the first K-pop act to bag a spot on the Billboard 200 in 2012, both as BIGBANG and as a solo artist.

This year, he will perform at the upcoming MAMA Awards in Japan on November 23. This will mark his return to performing at award shows after nearly a decade. He will also be heading on a tour following the release of his album.

The K-pop king recently had a reunion with BIGBANG members Taeyang and Daesung on stage at Taeyang's solo concert “THE LIGHT YEAR” this year.
