If you have ever wondered what Priyanka Chopra Jonas keeps in her tote bag, the actor has now offered a closer look. In a new video, she pulled out everyday essentials, a few protective keepsakes, and items tied to her health, while also sharing small stories behind them.

The reveal moved between the ordinary and the intimate, as the 44-year-old actor explained why some things stay with her whenever she is on the move.

Nazar Battu, because why not?

In a new YouTube video for Vogue, Priyanka first went through smaller essentials such as perfume, hair spray and sunglasses before stopping at a black thread.

“In India, we wear black. This is a nazar battu (evil eye) which is like an evil eye bracelet. You wear a little black thread. In India, we believe that it keeps away the evil away. I just like wearing them together. The more you can do to protect yourself Why not?” she said.

A photo, a wallet staple and a quick fix

She then opened her wallet and showed one of her first pictures with her husband, singer Nick Jonas. The actor said she carries it with her all the time. After that came a Tide pen, which she said, is a permanent fixture in her bag.

“I can’t be trusted with couture. I stained my Golden Globes Dior dress because I was eating pizza. So, I used it instantly and it was good to go,” she said.

Prayer booklet and labelled charger

Priyanka also held up a small booklet of the Hanuman Chalisa and explained why it stays with her. “You’re supposed to say it every day. I don’t do it everyday, but I try as much as I can," the actor said, highlighting that she feels like it protects her in all her travels.

The next item out of the bag was a portable charger with a label on it. The actor said, “It is labelled, so that it doesn’t get stolen in a busy household. I label everything. I label drawers, I label closets, I label everything because my husband will put it in his bag otherwise.”

A new addition

Priyanka then said the latest addition to her bag is an Epi-Pen since she developed allergies this year. "I can’t tell you what I am allergic to, because then literally everyone will know how to kill me! I don’t want that. There’s also my inhaler, because I have asthma,” she continued.

What is next on-screen

On the work front, Priyanka was last seen in the 2023 romcom Love Again. She is now promoting Citadel Season 2, in which she stars opposite Richard Madden, with Stanley Tucci also returning.
