Kyunki: Tulsi gets emotional as Chhath brings back memories of Mihir

Tulsi imagines celebrating Chhath with the Virani women as she worries about Mihir's return. The moment deepens the episode's emotional note, while Gauri Pradhan later shared her first Chhath pictures from the set.

Ektaa Kapoor found a way to weave in The Vvaan song Chhathi Maiya in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. In the latest episode, Smriti Irani's Tulsi imagined herself and her daughters-in-law observing the festival together. Soon after, Gauri Pradhan, who plays Nandini Virani in the show, shared pictures from her first Chhath Puja celebrations on the sets.

In the episode, Sushila (Shweta Tiwari) speaks to Tulsi (Smriti Irani) about Chhathi Maiyya and the significance of observing Chhath. As Tulsi listens to her, she imagines herself celebrating the festival alongside the women of the Virani family.

The sequence shows the women dressed in traditional red outfits and taking part in the rituals. However, the sequence is part of Tulsi's imagination and does not show the Virani women actually celebrating Chhath together and The Vvaan song plays in the background.

The emotional moment comes as Tulsi continues to worry about Mihir. Sushila reassures her that God is on their side and that things will eventually work out. Tulsi remains hopeful that Mihir will return home and decides to observe the 36-hour nirjala fast for him.

Gauri Pradhan shares her first Chhath Puja pics

After the episode's Chhath sequence, Gauri Pradhan shared a glimpse of her own festive celebrations from the sets of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.

Gauri posted a picture with co-stars Ravee Gupta and Prachi Singh. All three were dressed in traditional red outfits for Chhath. Gauri was seen in the centre in a red saree, with traditional jewellery and her dupatta covering her head. Ravee, who plays Damini Virani, and Prachi, who plays Munni Virani, posed alongside her.

The three actors were also seen sporting festive sindoor looks. Sharing the picture on Instagram, Gauri wrote, “My first ever Chhath Pooja #kksbkt2”.

Gauri plays Nandini Virani, who is married to Karan Virani, played by her real-life husband Hiten Tejwani. Ravee Gupta plays Damini Virani, while Prachi Singh plays Munni Virani, an IPS officer and Tulsi and Mihir's daughter-in-law.

Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi premiered on July 3, 2000, and became one of the most popular Hindi television shows of its time. The original series centred on Tulsi Virani and the influential Virani family and ran for more than eight years before ending in November 2008.

The show returned with its second season in July 2025, 25 years after the original series began. Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay returned as Tulsi and Mihir, while several actors from the original cast, including Hiten Tejwani and Gauri Pradhan, reprised their roles.

Meanwhile, The Vvaan , starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, is set to hit cinemas on September 25.
