Social media was flooded with birthday wishes for the actor and clips of fan celebrations around the film's release. Several videos showed the scale of the turnout, with fans gathering at theatres in large numbers to mark the opening day.

Fans turn theatres into celebration venues

One viral video showed fans standing inside a theatre during the screening as they recorded a special tribute for Mohanlal before showering confetti on the actor's picture. Another clip showed long queues outside theatres in Kochi, where fans waited to watch the film amid towering cut-outs of the star.

In another widely shared video, giant gorilla and panda soft-toy mascots were seen dancing outside a theatre while fans waved flags carrying Mohanlal's image, adding to the scenes around the release.

Mohanlal visits Kavitha Theatres

The actor also celebrated with fans after visiting Kavitha Theatres in Ernakulam. Videos from the visit showed Mohanlal, surrounded by security, waving at fans as he made his way inside the theatre.
