Actor Simran met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay at the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) headquarters in Chennai on Monday, years after the two shared screen space. She was accompanied by her husband and two sons, and later shared photographs from the meeting along with a note that recalled their association and praised his warmth, humility and vision for the state.

Vijay and Simran are among the iconic pairs in Tamil cinema and have acted in films like Nerukku Ner, Once More, Thulladha Manamum Thullum, Priyamaanavale and Udhaya.

Sharing pictures from her visit, Simran wrote, "Years after sharing screen space together, it was a pleasure to meet Hon'ble Chief Minister Thiru Vijay with my family. The warmth, humility, and sincerity that endeared him to so many people remain exactly the same! His passion and vision for the progress of our state are inspiring. Wishing him the very best as he leads Tamil Nadu forward (sic)."

Actor Silambarasan, also known as Simbu, also met Vijay on Monday and posted photographs from the meeting. Their posts came as members of the film industry continued to visit Vijay in person after he took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on May 10.

Silambarasan also shared photos from his meeting and wrote, "It was a pleasure meeting Hon'ble Chief Minister Vijay anna today. Wishing him strength, success and God's blessings as he serves the people of Tamil Nadu (sic)."

Ever since Vijay took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on May 10, his colleagues from the film industry have been visiting him to congratulate him and wish him well. The actor-turned-chief-minister secured 108 seats in his first attempt. For the past six decades, Tamil Nadu had been ruled by the two Dravidian parties, DMK and AIADMK, before Vijay's party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, won the Assembly election.
