Titled Jai Ho – A Tribute to the Bravehearts, the event will take place during the Parade Ceremony at JCP Stadium and is being organised by the team behind the upcoming film Main Vaapas Aaunga.
The tribute marks a significant moment for the film and its makers, extending beyond promotion to recognise the courage and sacrifice of the men and women who guard India's borders. The organisers have described the event as a first-of-its-kind initiative celebrating the spirit of the BSF through music and storytelling.
What is Jai Ho – A Tribute to the Bravehearts?
Scheduled between 4.30 pm and 5.30 pm, the event will see Rahman perform at one of India's most symbolic locations. The tribute aims to honour BSF personnel who dedicate their lives to protecting the country's frontiers.
Named after Rahman's globally recognised anthem "Jai Ho", the programme is intended as an expression of gratitude towards the force and its service to the nation.
Who will join A R Rahman at the event?
Rahman will be accompanied by Main Vaapas Aaunga director Imtiaz Ali and actor Vedang Raina. Singers associated with the film, including Mohit Chauhan, Pooja Tiwari and Nargis, are also expected to participate.
Representatives from Birla Studios, and producer Mohit Choudhary will attend the ceremony as well.
Why is the event linked to Main Vaapas Aaunga?
As anticipation builds around Main Vaapas Aaunga, the makers have positioned the tribute as a way to acknowledge the values of courage, resilience and service that form the foundation of the project.
By bringing together music, cinema and patriotism at the Attari Border, the event seeks to honour the dedication of India's security personnel while offering a platform for remembrance and appreciation.
