- Akhil Akkineni's Lenin postponed to July 10, third delay for the film
- This time, the delay is due to Ram Charan's Peddi success at box office
- The makers of Lenin want more time for better quality and experience
Akhil Akkineni’s long-awaited film, Lenin, has been postponed for a third time, with the makers now setting July 10 as the new release date. This time, the movie has been postponed due to the phenomenal run of Ram Charan's Peddi, which is nearing Rs 400 crore at the box office worldwide. Lenin, directed by Murali Kishor Abburu and starring Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead, was earlier scheduled to arrive in theatres on June 26.
Produced by his father Akkineni Nagarjuna and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under the banners of Manam Enterprises LLP and Sithara Entertainments, the film is being positioned as one of the most awaited projects in Akhil’s career. The latest postponement was announced with the makers saying they wanted more time to deliver better output and a special theatrical experience for audiences.
But, the main reason behind the film's postponement is because of the phenomenal run of his friend Ram Charan's recently released film, Peddi. The makers shared the note saying that it is ideal to postpone the release so Peddi, which is running successfully in theatres, can continue to have maximum availability of screens.
Nagarjuna announced the revised release date through his official X account and said the team had sought additional time to complete the film with their best efforts. “Lenin team approached me with a request. They wanted some more time to create a special film with their 100 per cent efforts. Looking at their passion and spirit, I agreed. Our guy is coming on July 10. I am saying this once again — you are going to see a new Akhil. Get ready for the Lenin experience,” he wrote on X.
Nagarjuna also said audiences would see Akhil Akkineni in a completely new avatar in the film. The announcement added to the makers’ messaging around “a new Akhil”, with the new date now officially locked for July 10.
The posters and songs released so far have generated curiosity among audiences, and the team believes the decision to delay the release will help present a better version of the film. The promotional campaign has already begun and is expected to gather more momentum as the new release date approaches.
Here's the poster with new release date:
Thaman is composing the music for the film, with the songs and background score expected to play a key role in the cinematic experience. Leon Britto is the cinematographer, while Naveen Nooli is handling the editing.
With the release now shifted from June 26 to July 10, the makers of Lenin have said the additional time is aimed at giving audiences the film in its best possible form.
