Tollywood star Jr NTR will undergo shoulder surgery at KIMS Hospitals in Hyderabad on Tuesday, following a medical evaluation of an injury he sustained in July. His team has confirmed that the procedure has been scheduled as part of his treatment and that doctors will monitor his recovery afterwards.

In a statement, the actor’s team said the medical team was working towards a smooth recovery and that further updates would be shared following the surgery. It also thanked fans, well-wishers and the media for their concern and requested privacy for NTR during the procedure and his recovery.

“Jr NTR will be undergoing a shoulder surgery tomorrow at KIMS Hospitals, Hyderabad. The surgery has been scheduled following a medical evaluation of the shoulder injury. The team of doctors is working towards a smooth recovery of Jr NTR. We will keep you updated on his progress following the surgery. Thank you for your understanding and continued support,” the statement read.

Jr NTR suffered shoulder injury in July

According to an earlier statement from his team, the Dragon actor suffered the shoulder injury during an activity in July. At the time, his office said, “We regret to inform everyone that Mr NTR sustained an unfortunate shoulder injury earlier this evening.”

Following the latest medical evaluation, doctors have advised him to undergo surgery. His condition and recovery will be monitored after the procedure, with his office expected to share further updates.

The actor’s team has also asked fans and well-wishers to respect his privacy as he undergoes treatment and begins his recovery.

Jr NTR’s upcoming projects

On the work front, NTR was last seen in Telugu cinema in Koratala Siva’s Devara: Part 1 (2024), which also starred Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Prakash Raj.

He made his Hindi film debut with Ayan Mukerji’s War 2 (2025), alongside Hrithik Roshan, Kiara Advani and Anil Kapoor, among others.

NTR is currently working on Dragon, directed by Prashanth Neel. The film is slated for release in 2027. Its first look was unveiled on May 19, ahead of the actor’s birthday.

For now, the actor is expected to focus on his treatment, with further updates on his recovery to be shared after the surgery.
