Foreign tourists filmed indecently, accused seen with folded hands at police station

Three men were detained after allegedly filming foreign women tourists at Ajaysar Kund in Rajasthan's Ajmer and circulating the videos on social media. Police identified the accused as Arjun Gurjar, Dayaram and Jujhar. A case has been registered under various BNS sections, including those related to sexual harassment and voyeurism.

A day after four men were arrested for passing obscene remarks at an Israeli woman in Rajasthan's Ajmer, a similar case has come to light in the same area where objectionable videos of foreign women tourists were filmed and circulated on social media.

According to the local police, the incident took place at Ajaysar Kund, a tourist spot under the Ganj police station area. On September 9, some foreign women tourists were sitting there when some youths allegedly filmed objectionable videos of them and uploaded them on their social media accounts.

As soon as the viral video came to the police’s attention, the Ajmer police cyber cell and the Ganj police station team took immediate action and identified the location where the video was filmed and the social media account from which it was uploaded.

The police then called the three men for questioning and detained them. Pictures of the accused with folded hands also surfaced from the police station. They were identified as Arjun Gurjar, Dayaram and Jujhar, all residents of the Machalpur police station area in Madhya Pradesh.

During questioning, it emerged that the youths were travelling to visit Baba Ramdev.

On the way, they stopped at Ajaysar Kund on September 9 to bathe. While bathing, they allegedly filmed objectionable videos of the foreign women and uploaded them on social media later that evening. In the videos, accessed by India Today, the tourists could be seen waving at the accused and asking them not to film them.

The police said that after being detained, the accused expressed regret over their actions and promised not to repeat them in the future.

A case has been registered at Ganj police station against the accused under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 75/2, 75(3), 77, 79, 296(b), 352 and 3(5), which deal with sexual harassment, voyeurism, insulting the modesty of a woman and obscene utterances in public.
