A woman based in Pune has praised a couple for putting headphones on their baby while attending a dhol-tasha procession on FC Road, amid concerns over the loud music and crowds.

In a post on X, Dhimahi Jain shared a picture showing the couple standing by the side of the road and watching the procession. The man was seen holding the baby in his arms, while headphones covered the child's ears to protect them from the loud sound.

Dhimahi said a large crowd had gathered on FC Road to watch the dhol-tasha performance and described the sound as “insanely loud.”

She spotted several parents with babies at the event but felt many did not appear to be paying attention to how loud the music was.

She then noticed the couple who had put headphones on their baby and praised them for taking the precaution.

“That’s how great parenting looks," Dhimahi said in her post.

The post also prompted a discussion about taking babies to loud public events. Some parents said they followed similar precautions, while others pointed out that avoiding such gatherings altogether could be a better option for infants. “If I tell fellow parents that kids should not stand this near loudspeakers, they nod their head and then don't care,” a comment read.

Another person praised parents who chose not to attend such events with their children.

Some, however, cautioned that headphones may not offer complete protection and advised parents to avoid bringing small children to or near dhol-tasha performances.
