A man has alleged that a Rapido rider threatened him with a knife and snatched his phone during a late-night ride in Gurugram, prompting him to seek help online to get the company and police to act on the incident.
The man detailed his account in a Reddit post on r/RapidoUsers titled, “Rapido driver threatened me with a knife and robbed me in Gurugram at 1:30 am. Need help getting police and Rapido to act.”
According to his post, the incident took place between 1 am and 1.30 am on October 19, when he booked a ride from Sector 5 in Ashok Vihar to Sector 72A in Gurugram. He alleged that the rider cancelled the trip on the app midway but insisted that he would still take him to his destination.
The situation allegedly took a frightening turn during the journey when the rider pulled out a knife, threatened his life, snatched his mobile phone and fled. The man described the experience as a robbery at knifepoint and said he feared for his life.

He also asked the company to preserve the trip records and take immediate action against the rider.
The man said he was pursuing a formal police complaint or FIR and appealed to Reddit users for guidance on escalating the matter to Rapido's senior management and safety team. Urging Rapido and Gurugram Police to take the matter seriously, he said he was willing to share his booking details and correspondence privately with the relevant authorities. He also warned other users against continuing a ride after a driver cancels it on the app.
