Singer and actor Ariana Grande had an emotional moment on stage during her Los Angeles concert on Sunday night after an enthusiastic response from fans left her visibly overwhelmed. The singer paused her Eternal Sunshine Tour show at the Crypto.com Arena to thank the crowd, fighting back tears as cheers echoed across the venue.
Performing the second of her four scheduled shows at the arena, Grande stopped midway through the concert to address the audience after a particularly loud round of applause. As the crowd continued cheering, the singer became emotional and repeatedly thanked fans for their support over the years.
Around 90 minutes into the show, the 32-year-old singer paused her set and reflected on the atmosphere inside the arena.
"Thank you so much, oh my god. L.A., thank you so much. Are you kidding? What the hell? I've never in my life experienced a crowd like this," she said, wiping away tears. "This is so overwhelming in the most beautiful way ever. Thank you so much for being so loving."
The singer continued speaking as the audience cheered louder, joking that the reaction would only make her cry more.
"This means so much to me. You guys are so amazing. I love you so much and I always have. You can't do this to me, you know what I mean, because you know what's going to happen. You know I'm a Cancer. This is going to happen," she said with a laugh.
Grande then shared a heartfelt message, thanking fans for their unwavering support throughout her career.
"Thank you for always being such a loving, safe presence in my life," she told the crowd, adding that they had stayed with her through "all these chapters and all of these years."

The Eternal Sunshine Tour marks Grande's first tour since 2019. In recent years, the singer has largely focused on her acting career, particularly her role in Universal Pictures' Wicked films alongside Cynthia Erivo under director Jon M. Chu.
As emotions continued to run high, Grande expressed her gratitude once again before lightening the mood with a joke about touring in contact lenses for the first time.
"I just have so much gratitude," she said. "Thank you."
She then added, "This is my first time touring wearing contact lenses. It's so nice to see you for the first time in my life and to be able to connect. It's so powerful. This is a very overwhelming night."
Grande wrapped up the exchange by thanking fans who have followed her journey from her 2013 track Honeymoon Avenue to Hampstead, a song from her upcoming album Petals. She then launched into a performance of the track.
The setlist featured several fan favourites, including yes, and?, Positions, Thank u, next, 7 rings, Rain on Me, Break Free, Dangerous Woman and We can't be friends. The tour supports Grande's seventh studio album, Eternal Sunshine, and its deluxe edition, Eternal Sunshine: Brighter Days Ahead.
The Los Angeles leg of the tour has also attracted several celebrity attendees, including Kim Kardashian, Emma Roberts, John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, Addison Rae and Ashlee Simpson Ross, who were spotted at the weekend shows.
