Music director Vipin Reshammiya, father of Himesh Reshammiya, dies at 87

Singer Himesh Reshammiya's father, Vipin Reshammiya, died on September 18 after being admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai.

Singer Himesh Reshammiya’s father, Vipin Reshammiya died at the age of 87 on the evening of September 18. The renowned music director was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai due to breathing difficulties and age-related health issues.

Himesh’s family friend Vanita Thapar also confirmed the news to ETimes, stating, "Yes, he had a breathing problem. He was in Kokilaben and passed away today at 8.30 pm. I am a family friend, more like family. I used to call him papa since the time he was making TV serials. Later, he became a music director, and then Himesh followed in his footsteps. We share a very close bond. Anup Singh, the numerologist, and I were also very close to him."

Vipin Reshammiya’s body will be brought home soon and his funeral will take place on September 19 in Juhu.

Meanwhile, Vipin Reshammiya had composed music for a Salman Khan film, which is where Salman first encountered Himesh and was impressed by his musical talent. This meeting marked the beginning of Himesh's breakthrough as a music composer for Salman's film Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya.

Vipin Reshammiya worked as a producer on The Xpose (2014) and Teraa Surroor (2016), both featuring his son, Himesh. He also composed music for the unreleased film Insaaf Ka Suraj (1990).
