Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce chose family over tradition on their wedding day. The couple got married on Friday, July 3, at Madison Square Garden in New York, skipping the customary bridesmaids-and-groomsmen line-up in favour of keeping the wedding party limited to their siblings.

While fans had speculated that several of Swift's longtime friends would be part of the bridal party, the singer opted against having bridesmaids. Instead, her brother, Austin Swift, stood beside her as her "Man of Honour", while Kelce's brother, former Philadelphia Eagles centre Jason Kelce, served as Best Man.

The ceremony was officiated by actor and comedian Adam Sandler, according to a representative for Swift.

The couple also coordinated their wedding-day looks. According to a press release, both wore custom Christian Dior Haute Couture designed by Jonathan Anderson, creative director of Dior's women's, men's and haute couture collections. Swift completed her bridal ensemble with custom Cartier jewellery, while Christian Louboutin designed bespoke shoes for both the bride and groom.

The decision to forgo bridesmaids marked a departure from Swift's own wedding history. Over the years, she has stood beside several close friends on their big day, serving as a bridesmaid at Lena Dunham's wedding to Luis Felber, her childhood friend Abigail Anderson's wedding to Matt Lucier, and hometown friend Britany Maack's wedding.

Taylor-Travis' relationship timeline

Swift and Kelce, both 36, began dating in 2023 after the Kansas City Chiefs tight end famously tried to give the singer a friendship bracelet carrying his phone number during one of her Eras Tour concerts. Although he never got the chance to hand it to her, Kelce later revealed on his podcast, New Heights, that he hoped to meet and date the pop star.

Their romance soon became public. In September 2023, Swift was photographed cheering for Kelce at a Kansas City Chiefs game. At the time, a source told People that the pair were "hanging out" and were in the "super, super early days" of getting to know each other. Since then, they have frequently supported one another, with Swift attending NFL games and Kelce making appearances at her concerts.

The singer has also spoken candidly about what the relationship has meant to her. During an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in December 2025, Swift described Kelce as "the love of my life" while reflecting on the milestones that had shaped her year.

The couple announced their engagement on August 26, 2025, with a joint Instagram post featuring Kelce's flower-filled proposal. The caption read, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."

In another interview with Heart Radio in October 2025, Swift admitted she had never given much thought to wedding planning until she met Kelce. "You would think that I had been the type of person who would have obsessed over the idea of a wedding my whole life, but I actually never thought about what I would ever do or what I would want until I met the person," she said.

Ahead of the ceremony, the couple celebrated separately with their closest friends. Kelce reportedly marked his bachelor party with outings that included The Bird Streets Club, a Chris Lake concert, Barney's Beanery, a NASCAR race at Naval Base Coronado and a golf simulator.

Swift, meanwhile, spent a girls' weekend at her Watch Hill home in Rhode Island with Abigail Anderson and other longtime friends, according to TMZ.
