Royal Enfield has announced the inaugural edition of the Himalayan Basecamp (HBC), a new adventure-focused gathering set to take place in Leh, Ladakh, from September 4 to 6, 2026. The three-day programme will bring together motorcyclists and outdoor enthusiasts at an altitude of 11,480 feet.

Hosted in what Royal Enfield describes as the spiritual home of its Himalayan adventure motorcycles, the event will feature a mix of riding challenges, outdoor sports, expedition rides, skill-building workshops and cultural experiences designed around Ladakh's rugged terrain.

One of the key attractions will be a series of competitive challenges aimed at testing participants' riding skills and endurance. These include a time-speed-distance navigation challenge across Ladakh's demanding terrain, the multi-day Himalayan Spirit off-road challenge, and a timed hill-climb event.

Beyond riding activities, the Himalayan Basecamp will also host masterclasses covering subjects such as motorcycle overlanding, off-road recovery techniques, bush mechanics, 4WD expedition planning and outdoor cooking at high altitudes. The sessions will be led by experienced adventurers and overlanding specialists.

The event's adventure portfolio extends beyond motorcycles, with participants able to take part in rafting and kayaking expeditions on the Indus and Zanskar rivers, rock climbing sessions in Shey, mountain biking routes through Disko Valley, guided hikes and paragliding experiences.

Royal Enfield has also curated seven expedition rides that explore Ladakh's landscapes, culture and lesser-known routes. These include photography-focused rides, monastery trails, village-based cultural routes and the Triple Pass Expedition, which covers Khardung La, Wari La and Tanglang La over three days.

Recognising the physical demands of high-altitude adventure, the company has incorporated wellness and recovery-focused activities into the programme. Participants will have access to rider-centric recovery sessions, yoga workshops, fireside storytelling gatherings and cultural evenings featuring Ladakhi cuisine and live acoustic performances.

Adding to the experience, Royal Enfield will organise guided rides to Leh from 24 cities across India, allowing participants to make the journey to Ladakh part of the adventure itself. Riders can also choose to arrive independently by road, air or self-guided GPS routes.

Registrations for the Himalayan Basecamp, Ladakh Edition are now open through Royal Enfield's official website.
