A video from a devotional event in Gujarat’s Junagadh district has gone viral after it showed currency notes being showered on stage in massive amounts during a Dayro performance by popular bhajan singer Kaviraj Jignesh, turning the spiritual gathering into an extraordinary spectacle.
The incident took place at Malia Hatina in Junagadh district, where Kaviraj Jignesh’s dayro reportedly witnessed what many online described as a “rain of money”, with attendees tossing currency notes by hand and even carrying bags and sacks filled with cash to offer on stage.
Videos from the programme are now being circulated widely across social media, leading to both fascinated reactions and debate.
The event was organised as part of a religious programme linked to a Bhagavad Gyan Yagya, where folk music and devotional bhajans were performed under the Prayagraj Group in Khambhaliya.
Kaviraj Jignesh, known for devotional performances rooted in folk traditions, reportedly performed bhajans centred around Lord Krishna, friendship, and spirituality, creating an atmosphere that was both devotional and celebratory.
In viral visuals from the programme, audience members could be seen swaying to the music and cheering as Jignesh continued performing on stage.
However, what particularly caught attention was the unusual sight of devotees and attendees showering the stage with money.
Initially, people were seen throwing individual currency notes and bundles by hand while standing close to the stage. But as the event gathered momentum, the scale of offerings appeared to grow dramatically.
Several attendees were later seen approaching the stage carrying bags and sacks filled with cash, pouring and tossing notes into the air while others continued flinging money by hand.
The visuals showed heaps of currency collecting on stage as volunteers and organisers attempted to manage the growing pile while the devotional singing continued uninterrupted.

Adding to the spectacle, Jayaraj Ahir, son of noted folk artist Mayabhai Ahir, was also present at the event and joined those showering money during the performance.
According to organisers, the money offered during the programme was not for personal gain and would instead be used for religious purposes, donations, and service-related activities linked to spiritual events.
They reportedly stated that the amount collected during the gathering would go toward community welfare and future religious programmes.
Still, the dramatic visuals triggered conversation amongst users online, with many expressing amazement at the scale of the offerings.
For several, the event reflected deep faith and devotion, with viewers describing it as a unique cultural tradition tied to Gujarat’s folk and devotional music scene.
