Controversy around the show
The development comes months after backlash over an episode of the show in which Ranveer Allahbadia made an explicit remark directed at a contestant. The remark sparked widespread outrage and led to legal trouble for several people associated with the episode.
The controversy also affected fellow guests Ashish Chanchlani, Apoorva Mukhija and Jaspreet Singh, who reportedly faced multiple FIRs after the incident. In the aftermath, Samay Raina was asked to remove all episodes of the show from his YouTube channel.
About Alpha
Alpha is the first female-led film in Yash Raj Films’ spy universe. Its release was earlier pushed from Christmas 2025 to allow additional time for visual effects work. After multiple delays, the film is now set to release in theatres on July 10.
Speaking about the project at the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah last year, Alia Bhatt spoke about the film’s place within the franchise. “Alpha is the first female-led action film from the YRF universe, so that’s also a risk, because you’ve not historically seen that perform in the same way that the other male-led films have performed,” she said, as quoted by Deadline.
Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film features Bobby Deol as the primary antagonist.
