Bollywood actor and politician Urmila Matondkar and husband Mohsin Akhtar Mir are rumoured to have hit a rough patch in their marriage. Rumours about their divorce have been doing the rounds on social media. However, India Today Digital exclusively learnt that they are indeed separated. Further, sources claim that Urmila is said to be seeking a divorce from Mohsin and eventually make her comeback into films.

India Today Digital reached out to Urmila and Mohsin about the divorce. However, they didn't respond at the time of publishing this story.

A source told us, "Urmila is seeking a divorce from Mohsin and wants to focus on her work. She wants to make a comeback to films. However, the two have been staying separately for quite some time."

Urmila Matondkar and Mohsin Akhtar Mir met each other through their mutual friend and designer Manish Malhotra. The two got married in 2016. It looks like their eight-year-long marriage has hit a roadblock now.

While Urmila is a celebrated Bollywood actor, Mohsin is a Kashmiri businessman and a model. Their intimate wedding, which saw only family members and a few friends in attendance, took place at her residence in Mumbai. Manish Maltrora was one of the friends who attended the wedding. Their 10-year age-gap was a huge topic of discussion at that time. While Urmila is 50 years old, Mohsin is 40 years old.

Urmila then entered politics in 2019 and joined the Indian National Congress. In 2020, she joined the Shiv Sena.

On the work front, Urmila was last seen in the 2018-film, Blackmail, where she appeared in the song, Bewafa Beauty. She also served as a judge for a kids' dance reality show, which aired on television.
