Giving a fun twist to his relationship status, filmmaker Karan Johar shared and expressed his love for Instagram. Karan likens Instagram to a supportive partner, saying it listens to him, and motivates him to follow his dreams. With his signature wit, Karan celebrated the platform's impact on his life in a lighthearted way.
Karan shared a note on his Instagram stories that read, “I am dating Instagram! It listens to me...makes me follow my dreams and even pays some bills! What's not to love? (sic).”

Karan has often been vocal about finding a correct partner. Earlier, in a Diwali 2024 post, the director wrote how despite being surrounded by people at festive gatherings, he often feels ‘alone’ and wonders when he’ll finally shed his ‘single’ status.
“Diwali ki raate, itni mulakaate, itni saari baatein, bheed mein fir bhi tanhai, single status se kab hogi judaai (Diwali nights, so many meetups, so many conversations, yet loneliness in the crowd—when will I finally part ways with my single status) (sic),” he wrote.
Karan Johar welcomed his twins, Yash and Roohi, via surrogacy in 2017. He named his son after his late father, producer Yash Johar, who died in 2004 after battling cancer. Karan lives with his twins and mother, Hiroo Johar, in Mumbai.
