DC's iconic character of Batman has become the first superhero to be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The news was confirmed by DC president and chief creative officer Jim Lee, who also penned the beloved Batman series Hush.

The ceremony for the same will be held on September 26.

The Caped Crusader first made his debut in the comic book world in March 1939.

It is yet to be confirmed if the actors who have portrayed the part in films would be appearing for the event. Until now, 11 actors have played Batman in films, with the most recent portrayal by British star Robert Pattinson as a young, tortured Batman in the Matt Reeves directorial.

“Fans from around the world will be thrilled to know that Batman will have his star dedicated next to the stars of television’s Batman Adam West and the co-creator of Batman, Bob Kane,” Hollywood Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez said in a statement shared by The Independent.

Recently, Scottish star Ewan McGregor was honoured with a star.
