Actors Rukmini Vasanth, Malashree's next titled Mangala Gowri; first look out

Actors Malashree and Rukmini Vasanth have joined forces for Mangala Gowri, a new Kannada film directed by Rahul PK. The film follows two women, Mangala and Gowri, as they embark on a life-changing journey.

The much-awaited Kannada film bringing together actors Malashree and Rukmini Vasanth has finally got a title — Mangala Gowri. Backed by Hemanth M Rao’s Dakshayani Films and Venkat K Narayan’s KVN Productions, the film promises an intriguing story centred on two women whose lives are set to collide in unexpected ways.

The makers announced the title on September 14, coinciding with Ganesh Chathurthi, unveiling posters that introduced the film’s central premise with a striking line. “Two ordinary women. One extraordinary journey. Mangala and Gowri will meet you at a theatre near you very soon,” the team wrote on social media.

While details about the plot and characters are being kept under wraps, the makers have revealed that Malashree will play Mangala, who is presumably a coach, while Rukmini Vasanth will be seen as a police officer named Gowri. The two characters are teased as embarking on a life-changing journey, perhaps to Lucknow, together.

The film also marks another collaboration between Rukmini and Hemanth M Rao. The filmmaker had previously directed the actor in the Saptha Sagaradaache Ello films. Mangala Gowri is also the next KVN Productions project featuring Rukmini after Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups.

The technical crew includes composer Midhun Mukundhan, cinematographer Srivathsan Selvarajan, editor Vishal Krishnamurthy, production designer Bharath Yuva and action director Vikram Mor.

Malashree was last seen in Calendar, while Rukmini Vasanth was most recently seen in Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. With production still underway, the makers have now officially announced the title and introduced the two characters at the centre of the story.

Mangala Gowri brings together two generations of Kannada cinema, with veteran actor Malashree sharing screen space with one of the industry's current leading performers, Rukmini Vasanth.
