Social media was on full detective mode all of Tuesday, after rumours of trouble between actor Mouni Roy and her husband Suraj Nambiar began doing the rounds. The chatter started in the morning when fans noticed that the couple had unfollowed each other on Instagram. By evening, the buzz grew louder after users pointed out that Suraj’s Instagram account appeared to have been deleted.
Adding fuel to the speculation, fans also observed that no pictures of Suraj, including the couple’s wedding photographs, are currently visible on Mouni’s Instagram profile. So far, neither Mouni nor Suraj has issued an official statement reacting to the rumours.
In the middle of all the online buzz, a clip shared by a fan account on Instagram drew concerned reactions in the comments section. In the video, Suraj, while walking through a crowd, is seen quickly stepping in to help Mouni up, hold her carefully and escort her towards their car.
When did Mouni and Suraj get married?
Mouni Roy married Suraj Nambiar on January 27, 2022, in Goa. After pre-wedding festivities, including haldi and sangeet ceremonies, the couple celebrated a traditional Malayali wedding and a Bengali wedding ceremony, followed by a post-wedding pool party.
Suraj, who hails from Bengaluru, is a businessman and investment banker who reportedly lived in Dubai before marrying Mouni. Over the years, the couple frequently shared glimpses of their relationship on Instagram, posting photographs from holidays, date nights and celebrations, until the recent separation rumours surfaced online.
Mouni remains one of the most recognised faces on Indian television and has featured in popular shows such as Kasturi, Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev and Naagin. She has also participated in reality shows, including Nach Baliye 6, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7 and Zara Nachke Dikha. Most recently, she hosted Temptation Island India.
Apart from television, Mouni has also appeared in films such as Brahmstra: Part One – Shiva, Gold and Made in China.
