On Wednesday evening, the devotees visiting the Andanallur Temple went to the banks of the river where they spotted the light blue and black metal object resembling a rocket launcher.

A rocket launcher was found by devotees washed up on the banks of the River Cauvery near a temple in Tamil Nadu's Trichy district. The police have handed over the metal object to the Army.

On Wednesday evening, the devotees visiting the Andanallur Temple went to the banks of the river where they spotted the light blue and black metal object resembling a rocket launcher.

They immediately informed the police and a team secured the object and handed it over to the 117 Army Infantry Battalion.

An investigation is also underway about the origin of the rocket launcher and how it ended up on the river bank.
