Cannes winner All We Imagine as Light to release in India this November

Director Payal Kapadia's Cannes winner, All We Imagine as Light, is finally getting an India release date. The film will release in cinemas this November.

All We Imagine as Light had won the Grand Prix award at the 77th Cannes Film Festival.

The Malayalam film first saw an India release after actor-producer Rana Daggubati's production house, Spirit Media, released the film in Kerala this September. It will now be showcased during the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival on October 18 as its opening film.

The movie, originally a co-production between India and France, released in France on October 2.

Kapadia, who made history by winning the coveted Grand Prix at Cannes earlier this year, shared her excitement about the India release of her film, "I am so excited for the India release this November! I hope that many people will go to watch it. It is such a wonderful feeling for any filmmaker," the director said in a statement, reported PTI.

All We Imagine as Light revolves around the story of two Kerala-based nurses, Prabha and Anu, who live together in Mumbai. It stars Kani Kusruti and Divya Prabha in the lead.
