Amitabh Bachchan says he's Allu Arjun fan, but asks KBC contestant: Don't compare us

On KBC 16, Amitabh Bachchan praised Allu Arjun and advised fans to watch Pushpa 2, while playfully urging a contestant not to compare him with the Telugu star.

Actor Amitabh Bachchan, on the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, urged a contestant not to compare him to Telugu star Allu Arjun, while praising the Pushpa 2 actor’s talent. He also encouraged the audience to watch Pushpa 2: The Rule if they haven’t already.

During the episode, Rajni Barniwal, a homemaker from Kolkata, mentioned her admiration for both Amitabh and Allu Arjun. When Amitabh teased her about her fondness for Arjun, she responded, "Sir, I am a fan of both Allu Arjun and you.” Playfully, Amitabh replied, “Adding my name is not going to make any difference now.”

He went on to praise Arjun, saying, “Allu Arjun is an incredibly talented artist, and the recognition he has received is well-deserved. I’m also a huge fan of his. Recently, his movie was released (Pushpa 2: The Rule), and if you haven’t seen it yet, you should watch it. But don’t compare me to him.”

However, Rajni insisted that the two actors share similarities. When asked to elaborate, she said, “Both of you have incredible entrances, and your styles are quite similar. When you perform comedy scenes, both of you bite your collar and blink your eyes.”

Amused, Amitabh asked her to name a film where he exhibited such mannerisms. Rajni cited his 1977 classic Amar Akbar Anthony. She added, “There’s another similarity between you two – both of your voices have a certain richness. Meeting you has fulfilled my dream; now I just need to meet Allu Arjun.”

During the promotion of Pushpa 2, Allu Arjun was asked which Bollywood actor inspires you the most. He said, “Amitabh ji inspires me the most. I like Amitabh Bachchan the most because we have grown up watching his films. He had a great influence on us as we grew up. So if I have to say it in one word, I would say that I am a big fan of Amitabh ji."

The senior actor thanked the Pushpa 2 actor for his kind words and praised his body of work.
