Actor Nushrratt Bharuccha has addressed the controversy surrounding a viral video that sparked speculation online over an alleged inappropriate audio clip. Reacting to the rumours, the actor issued a clarification on her Instagram Stories, saying that the sound heard in the background was that of a puppy and criticised those spreading misinformation.

Calling out the assumptions being made online, Nushrratt wrote, "Kuch logon ne hadh hi kar di hai. Ek puppy ke rone ki awaaz se itna bawaal mach gaya hai and someone has issued a fake clarification also on my behalf. (Some people have really crossed the line. A puppy's crying sound has created such a huge controversy)."

Explaining the circumstances behind the video, she further said, "So here's the reality... I was watching the match at my friend's house and their young puppy was making these crying 'Sounds'. This is the video made by my friend at the same time with the same sounds from another angle. (contd..)"

The actor also shared additional visuals to support her claim and revealed why she had eventually deleted the original video.

She wrote, "This is the house where I was watching the match. This is the puppy. This is a video from that very night, a while later. fearing exactly what has happened, I was advised to delete that video and I did."

Concluding her statement, the Chhorii actor urged people to refrain from drawing conclusions based on assumptions and condemned online harassment.

"People, calm your wild thoughts down! Owning a mobile phone doesn't empower harassment. Do not misinterpret or follow blindly. Think and act responsibly,” she concluded.

The clarification comes after her Instagram story, which featured RCB’s IPL victory, gained traction on social media, with several users speculating about the nature of the audio before the actor stepped in to address the claims.
