Alongside the poster reveal, Kher reflected on his decision to take on new challenges and step into unfamiliar territory on Instagram. “If you don’t challenge yourself, you slowly start repeating yourself,” he wrote, adding that he chose “the harder road” to reinvent not only himself as an actor but also as a person.
"So I chose the harder road. To reinvent not just the actor in me but the person I am becoming. To step into uncertainty. To make it difficult. To search for something real. FLICKER is that search," he wrote on Instagram.
Describing Flicker as a search for something “real”, Kher said the film is “extraordinary in its spirit”. He added that the preparation for the project has been quiet and focused.
While keeping the storyline under wraps for now, the actor said the film would leave a lasting impression on audiences. Calling it “Day 1” of a new chapter, he described the project as a “leap of faith”.
Kher also sought blessings from fans and well-wishers as he begins this journey, while promising to share more about Flicker in the coming days.
Other upcoming projects
Kher will also be seen in Khosla Ka Ghosla 2. The film is set for a theatrical release on August 28 this year, which coincides with Raksha Bandhan.
The new film brings back several familiar faces from the original, including Ranvir Shorey, Parvin Dabas and Kiran Juneja. Ravi Kishan has also joined the ensemble. The first, Khosla Ka Ghosla, which was released on September 22, 2006, followed a family’s fight to reclaim their property and later became a cult favourite.
