Prashanth Neel’s upcoming film with Jr NTR is one of the most anticipated projects of the year. Tentatively titled NTRNeel, the action drama is touted to be one of Indian cinema’s biggest spectacles. Sources confirmed to India Today that the film’s first asset will drop on the superstar’s birthday, May 20. What’s even more fascinating is how the filmmaker has kept the teaser under wraps, even from Jr NTR and the film’s team.

According to an industry source, director Prashanth Neel and music composer Ravi Basrur worked around the clock to make the first glimpse of NTRNeel a remarkable asset.

“The way these two mega forces have invested their time, it is going to be a one-of-a-kind, larger-than-life asset that will truly make an impact. They have also maintained utmost secrecy and haven’t even shown it to the cast and crew, to prevent the asset from leaking into the public domain before its release,” the source said.

The teaser will drop at midnight on May 20 to mark the beginning of the special day.

Earlier, sources had shared that the teaser would be three minutes long and would aim for detailed world-building rather than just serving as a regular announcement.

Ever since the project was announced, NTRNeel has remained one of the most discussed upcoming films across fan circles and the trade ecosystem. The collaboration marks the first time NTR and Prashanth Neel are joining forces, further driving expectations around the project. The film backed by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts, will release in theatres on June 11.

On the work front, Jr NTR was last seen in Devara: Part 1, directed by Koratala Siva. The action drama opened to strong box-office numbers and featured Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in key roles.

Meanwhile, Prashanth Neel is best known for directing the KGF franchise and Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire starring Prabhas. The actor-director duo is also expected to reunite for the film's sequel, Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam.
