Actor Huma Qureshi recently sidestepped a question about the repeated delays to Yash's Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-ups. After initially avoiding a box office clash with Dhurandhar: The Revenge by moving from its March release amid international conflicts, the film was later rescheduled to June 4. It is now slated to hit theatres on August 26. When asked about the reason behind the multiple postponements, Huma said the focus should be on the film's release rather than the reasons for its delay.
During an interview with India Today’s sister channel Lallantop, the 38-year-old actor who will be seen playing a key role in the movie said, “The new release date is August 26. Whatever the reason may have been, I think the focus should now be on the fact that fans are incredibly excited for the film to release. I am very excited too because, from whatever little I have seen, I can say it is a visual spectacle. It's a massive film.”
She added, “I haven't watched the entire film yet, but based on what I have seen, every actor and every character has delivered their best. I don't think audiences have ever experienced action on this scale before. So, it doesn't really matter whether the film releases in March, June or August. The goal isn't to release first; it's to release when the film is truly ready."
The actor also said that she watched Dhurandhar and loved the first part and even spoke to Aditya Dhar as well after the success.
Toxic new promo under scrutiny
The film’s recently released promo video is titled Ladies & Ladies. While the promo puts the spotlight on the film's female characters, it has also sparked criticism from a section of social media users. Many accused the makers of objectifying the women and argued that, despite the promo centring on them, the leading ladies appeared to have very little to do.
