The Maha Kumbh Mela, one of Hinduism's most sacred and significant events, occurs once every 12 years and attracts millions of devotees and pilgrims worldwide. The 2025 Maha Kumbh Mela is set to commence on January 13, 2025, with the Paush Purnima Snan and conclude on February 26, 2025, coinciding with Maha Shivratri.

Taking place at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, the event will feature key bathing dates such as Makar Sankranti on January 14, Mauni Amavasya on January 29, and Basant Panchami on February 3.

To accommodate the massive influx of pilgrims, Indian Railways has launched a large-scale operation, scheduling over 13,000 trains for the event. This includes 10,000 regular services, 3,000 special trains, and 560 ring rail trains to improve connectivity between Prayagraj and neighboring cities like Ayodhya, Varanasi, Jaunpur, and Chitrakoot.

The South Central Railway (SCR) has also announced 16 special trains to connect various destinations to Prayagraj, ensuring a smooth and secure travel experience for all attendees. This comprehensive transportation plan is designed to handle the enormous crowd expected at this monumental event.

List of special trains for Maha Kumbh 2025-

  • In January and February 2025, several trains have been scheduled to operate between various destinations.
  • Train 7701 runs from Guntur to Azamgarh, departing at 23:00 and arriving at 17:15 on the second day, with its journey scheduled on January 24.
  • Train 7702 returns from Azamgarh to Guntur, departing at 19:45 and reaching at 09:00 on the second day, scheduled for January 26.
  • Train 7707 operates from Moula Ali to Azamgarh on January 18 and February 21, departing at 23:55 and arriving at 17:15 on the second day, while Train 7708 returns from Azamgarh to Moula Ali on January 20 and February 23, departing at 19:45 and arriving at 07:30 on the second day.
  • Train 7711 travels from Moula Ali to Gaya on January 19, leaving at 17:50 and reaching at 09:00 the next day, with Train 7712 returning from Gaya to Moula Ali on January 21 with a similar schedule.
  • Train 7729 departs from Moula Ali to Gaya on January 22, while Train 7730 returns from Gaya to Moula Ali on January 24, with the same departure and arrival timings as 7711 and 7712.
  • Train 7719 operates from Guntur to Gaya on January 25, departing at 14:20 and arriving at 09:00 the next day, while Train 7720 returns from Gaya to Guntur on January 27, departing at 14:15 and arriving at 04:00 the following day.
  • Train 7721 travels from Nanded to Patna on January 22, leaving at 23:00 and arriving at 10:30 the next day, while Train 7722 returns on January 24, departing at 15:30 and arriving at 04:30.
  • Finally, Train 7725 operates from Kacheguda to Patna on January 25, departing at 16:45 and arriving at 10:30 the next day, with Train 7726 returning from Patna to Kacheguda on January 27, leaving at 11:30 and arriving at 07:00 the next day.
